In your plasma ubiquinone has to be converted into ubiquinol. Supplementation using CoQ10 not in the form of ubiquinone or ubiqionol is not effective especially when you are older than 65 year old or with relevant clinical conditions like kidney failure, heart failure or ischemic heart disease and those taking statin medicine for cholesterol.
